Lead Belle

Scotopteryx mucronata (70.040)

The Lead Belle is scarce in Warwickshire. It inhabits heathland, a rare habitat in Warwickshire today with only tiny pockets remaining. It was once quite common at sites in the south of Warwickshire on calcareous soils and on the acid heathland of Sutton Park.

The adult moths which are on the wing in May and June can be disturbed during the day time
